As a corollary to our own production of camping equipment, starting a separate wing for organizing tours and treks in  the Sikkim Himalayas came as a natural progression. ATLAS TOURS AND SERVICES PVT.LTD was thus born. As Mani Kumar (Mac) put it, “let’s trek and have fun too”. Mac has been involved in our manufacturing process for a long time and wants to put his products to test. Testing the products himself is an opportunity to “self test”, as he puts it.

Everyone at Atlas loves nature and the myriad natural history of our surroundings. Our tours and treks would hence revolve around study of natural history – of birds, butterflies, community, plants, stars etc.  As a result, since 1992, we have been involved in conducting natural history based tours and treks in the Sikkim Himalayas. We organize logistics including transportation, accommodation, food and other information inputs to our clients for a hitch-free program through the Sikkim Himalayas. Our objective is to share our experiences and learn from our clients and pass them on to the coming generations. Along the way we often end up organizing interactive sessions between our clients and local communities including students. Exchange of such experiences and ideas have led to many lasting results and impressions. Our clientele includes experts from the Royal Botanic Gardens, Edinburgh; the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), Mumbai; Smithsonian Institute, Washington; the Writhlington School of Business and Enterprises, UK; the Natural England, UK, to name a few.
